HKBP Theological Seminary located on Jalan Sangnawaluh Nr. 6 Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra is one of the oldest Seminaries in Sumatra Island and even in Indonesia. HKBP church as the owner of all HKBP Seminaries, university and Schools founded Nommensen University in 1977 and one of the faculties was Theology faculty. But on April 12, 1978 the Theology faculty split from Nommensen University and became HKBP Theological Seminary. The seminary is only about 46 km from the Lake Toba in the Samosir Island, one of the biggest lakes in the world.
